 Welcome to Ballantine, Montana, a remote town with an estimated population of 1,380.
Everyone here appears normal, perhaps even boring, but should one look back at the history of the town they would be shocked. Every few years a mass break out of disappearances takes place, with no explanation as to what happened to the vanished citizens. Sadly, no one really pays attention to the history of Ballantine and most who know of the eerie occurrences try their best to forget it.
Pixies and shapeshifters are the rules of this town, even if the humans are too stupid to realize it. Then again, pixies are spell casting creatures, using glamor spells to hide their true identities. Presently, the Pixie King has reached the time of finding a Queen. Of course it is no easy task. The need to find his Queen cannot be ignored and if he cannot acquire her, then he will be forced to feed upon innocent humans.
So much is at stake, especially with the recent pixie attacks on humans. Somehow though, no one seems to notice. Evidently the pixies have been using advanced magic to make the humans of Ballantine almost ignorant of the circumstances. Shapeshifters are not affected by these spells, yet they have nearly no way of defeating the pixies.
What will become of the citizens of Ballantine?
