Roaring water was all around, the waves slightly choppy and with a strong rowing motion. It was salty, a dry salty that made your teeth hurt and your stomach flip in disgust and salt overdose. It was unliveable to drink. Yet it was swallowed anyway without choice.
Esta had no choice. She was struggling to stay above the water, her head sinking below the waves for a few moments as her arms thrashed about at the surface. She bobbed back up, gasping for air. A wave flew into her face and temporarily submerging her whole head and body underwater again. She was pushed to the surface, coughing as she was forced into another gulp of disgusting seawater.
”HELP!”
She had no clue what exactly happened, or if the tide was coming in or out, but she knew that she could see the cliff and shoreline... was that the beach? The current played at her toes, pushing her towards the beach. She remembered that she was sitting in a tree earlier on, talking to the ladybug on the leaf and the birds chirping and singing amongst themselves. Then she decided to try and find the beach.
”Help-!”
She gurgled, thrashing around to stay above the water as another wave tumbled into her face. She was cold, the sea chilled, it made her tired. Her mind was starting to get foggy, her limbs tired, sore and cramping with the effort and the cold. Esta never was a really strong swimmer, she never really remembered water other then rain, rivers, and that snow melted into water. Panic fluttered all over her body, making it work harder to try and stay afloat, her arms splashed and her feet kicked to keep her head above the water as best as possible. The very back of her thoughts were pushing forward, telling her, ”Esta.... you are going to drown...!!!”
