i’d build you an empire from here to the far lands to spread love like violence
EVER SINCE his child hood, Zane had fancied that the wind carried the whispers of spirits, but sometimes he could actually allow himself to become convinced of this outlandish idea. It was very easy to believe his own childish fantasies, truly, it seemed so simple to think that the wind was made up of whispers. On days like these, when the wind was blowing so violently and loudly, when he listened close enough, he could make out words. Perhaps his solitary life had caused him to act in this way, to so easily think of and believe in such things, as if he were still a daydreaming child. Then again, Zane still had the terrible habit of daydreaming; it was almost preposterous the way he would drift off into his dream world, so quickly shutting out the activities of his surrounding environment.
FINALLY THE shape shifter managed to quench the fire of his scurrying thoughts, bringing his sea foam eyes to focus on a peculiarly bulky bit of driftwood floating in the ocean waves. He titled his head up to look at the pitifully withered leaves of the gloomy tree above him, his eyes squinty in result of the sun shining down upon him. Zane looked up the beach and then down the shore, checking to see if there were any others, but he could see no one. So, the male stripped himself of his clothes, folding them up neatly and laying them on a neighboring rock. With just the slightest of thought, his body transformed into the black lupine form that he had grown so accustomed to.
MUSCLES SENT the wolf bolting forward, sprinting down the beach in a flurry of sand, leaving a mess of sand in his wake. It was when he was in his wolf form that he could feel free, when he could just enjoy the run and leave all ‘human’ worries behind for at least a while. His rhythmic panting was the focus of his ears, the beat he ran to, the only sound he was aware of. In this very moment, Zane felt as if he could just run for eternity, listening to the sound of his breathing and the wonderful rhythm it created. Even for his wishful thinking, his body could not withstand constant running, already he was beginning to feel tired.
SPINNING AROUND suddenly, his speed still at that of a sprint, he headed back toward the rock where his clothes lay. This was a challenge for himself, just to see if he could keep up this speed all the way back, even though he so badly wanted to stop for a moment and rest. It was all about the challenge though, Zane needed to see if he could do it. Why? Well, no reason really, but it was in his nature to take the challenge, even if it was a test to and from himself. Only thirty feet away, he picked up speed, coming to a clumsy halt at the tree he had been sitting under earlier, sending sand everywhere. After catching his breath, he jumped into the waves, morphing to his human form to swim.
ONCE ZANE had his fun in the water, he made a dash to his clothes, pulling on his pants quickly. It was always a chance he took when he did this, but if he wanted to morph; his brief nudity was just something he’d have to risk. It’s not like his clothes would magically appear on his body when he morphed from wolf to human form, though it certainly would be nice. It occurred to the male that someone might have saw him, but Zane decided it best not to look around, if someone had saw him, it was probably better that he not look to see who it was. Well, he supposed it wasn’t that big of a deal, he wasn’t ashamed of his body, so why be worried about it? The thought made Zane smirk as he began to pull his shirt over his head, but he stopped short, taking the shirt back off. He was too hot with sweat to put all his clothes on yet, even with the fact that he had jumped into that freezing water! Settling down by his tree, he leaned his head back and closed his eyes.

I'm here again A thousand miles away from you A broken mess, just scattered pieces of who I am.
Like a ghost Arlenwa walked silently through the forest, pushing branches gently out of her way. Amatea.. The word did not come from the tongue of her people, but it left a pleasant tingling on her tongue. It was one of the few beautiful words the humans had managed to create with their usually clumsy tongues. They always seemed to have a hard time with beauty. It caused arguements, jealousy, and sometimes even war.
A bitter smile grew on her lips as the thought of the war blossomed in her mind. How unnesessary it seemed to her. So much death. Not even her people had been able to sway the decisions of the human royalty. Such unhappy people they always seemed to be. With the exception of King Cyric's children. They denied their rights to become rulers of great kingdoms, and were happy because of what they were able to do without the burden of responsibilty.
The Elf pushed away all thoughts of war and death. She was nearly to the beach and then- then she would be able to enjoy the natural world that was untouched by war. She stepped out of the trees, spotting something black moving farther away. A wolf. She smirked, wondering what a wolf was doing on the beach. They normally took refuge in the forests near taverns and farms. Without warning, the wolf's form changed, and a man moved in the water, obviously enjoying the feeling. He was naked, but Arlenwa just smirked, thinking quietly to herself, not bothering to look away. There was nothing sexual about it, she wouldn't feel any lust towards the male. Arlenwa removed her cloak, leaving it in the trees.
Without fear or shame of seeing him naked, she continued along the beach, stopping behind him and the tree he had propped himself against. "Comfortable?" She grinned, looking at his face, and nowhere else. It was no use scaring him or making him feel uncomfortable. Or maybe he wouldn't. Perhaps he was one of those men that liked it when people walked in on them during their naked time.. What a ridiculous thought.
It wasn't often that Arlenwa encountered a shape shifter. In fact, she had only come across three or four in her entire existence, and the thought of them didn't cross her mind often. They were interesting. Being able to transform into an animal. The thought fascinated her instantly, and she studied the images of shape shifters she had met in the past more carefully. Was there something that one could identify them for what they were? She wasn't sure, but it didn't matter. Why would she ever need to see a similarity? Everyone was different. Some.. more different than others.
Tempted by the thought of using her powers to see into his past and future if she chose, and crossed her arms. What could she think of to keep the temptations at bay? The war? No, that would only bring sadness. Her father? More sadness. Her brothers? A sly smirk inched onto her face, replacing the grin. Brief flashes of her childhood passed through her mind. All the pranks and games. Such happiness. Eventually her thoughts again turned to shape shifters and her blue eyes studied his face carefully.

she makes my heart scream color i know by now she should have found me out
RELAXATION WAS one of the few things the world had to offer that Zane actually enjoyed, so moments like these were precious to him. Sadly, this moment was to come to an end. The shifter had just begun to doze off a bit when a voice startled his peace. "Comfortable?" It was a female voice he heard, but in his opinion, it might as well have been a demon, sent to ruin his happiness. His irises turned black in annoyance as he turned toward her, but he quickly brought them to a dark brown so as not to scare her. Well, he wasn't exactly worried about scaring her, more so he just didn't want to have to explain to her about his ability. Frankly, it was annoying to have to explain to everyone about his eyes. Pushing the thought away, Zane turned to study his annoying intruder, raising an eyebrow at her appearance.
AND WHAT do you know? It was an elf. Oh great. Zane had never thought much of elves, yes they were impressive creatures, but most of them had the attitude that they were the superior race. Which if one really looked at the race, you could easily see that they were indeed superior, but that was no reason for them to walk around like kings, thus he held grudges against them. Even if he wanted to keep a grudge against her just due to the fact that she was an elf, being a woman would easily remove his grudge. Testosterone was not something that he had control of, he wanted to ignore the beauty she possessed, but of course, he was already staring at her. The elf lady was extremely beautiful, but Zane would not let that cloud his judgment. Women were one of his weakness, any flirtatious woman could control him, but this one was not flirtatious and she would not control him, not if Zane had anything to say about it.
MANAGING TO find the ability to speak, he muttered, "Well, I was comfortable..." The thought occurred to him that she might have saw him naked, but he didn’t care. It wasn’t as if he would be talking to her more than he had too, so why even bother himself with being uncomfortable around her. More than likely she had no intention of placing any sexual desires upon him, so worrying about it would be a waste of brain power. Having finally come to a decision on the matter, Zane crossed his arms and tilted his head, a look of annoyance presented readily on the features of his face. "Why even talk to me elf? Haven’t you something more important to do?"
ZANE KNEW that he was only getting himself into trouble, as she was probably much wittier than him. She could probably give him a snappy remark that would leave him speechless. It would all be worth it though just to knock her down from her high throne.

Enemy, familiar friend My beginning and my end.
"Well, I was comfortable..." The Elf bit her bottom lip, smirk gone with the action. "I'm sorry for disturbing you then." She fought the anger that was slowly beginning to grow inside her. "Why even talk to me elf? Haven’t you something more important to do?"
Broken truth, whispering lies And it hurts again What I fear and what I try Words I say and what I hide All the pain, I want it to end But I want it again
"No, actually." She spoke calmly, fighting even harder to control her temper. On the outside she was calm and serene, but only known to her, there was anger and sadness burning inside her. "I just came to enjoy one of the few things the war hasn't managed to destroy.." She paused, uncrossing her arms so she wouldn't look threatening or egotistical. Her thoughts drifted to the dagger she had strapped to her body, and the sword hanging on Sakar's saddle in the forest. She wished that she would have brought it, and show him a thing or two. "Yet." She added quietly.
It's still the same, pursuing pain Isn't worth the lie I've gained We both know how it will end But I do it again
Sadly, Arlenwa would always pity the humans, or shape shifters in this case, who hated the Elves just because of the reputation a few stories had given her kind. "Would I still be upsetting you if I remained on the beach?" Arlenwa could wait for the yes that would be twisted into a hateful curse, but instead; "Shape shifter," she addressed him. "I do not think your energy should be wasted on hating me. Nor I you." Her expression held a certain sadness for the thoughts in her mind. Hate would eventually destroy everyone. Hate could reach anyone and everyone, even if they only sought peace and calm.
"Have a pleasant day." She smiled as best she could, and turned to walk away. Now she wished for her cloak to shelter and hide her from the unfriendly pair of eyes.
And it finds me The fight inside is coursing through my veins And it's raging The fight inside is hurting me again And it finds me The war within me pulls me under And without you The fight inside is breaking me again
No- no, she had something much better. Arlenwa turned around, and walked over to him, standing so close their bodies coould have touched each other if one of them moved forward even the smallest amount. She went to pull the dagger from the confines of her clothing, but stopped abruptly. The woman was hysterical. "Sorry." She struggled with the word she had spoken to someone who would surely wrong her like the others, and backed up, calming herself. "Before I leave you to your- whatever you were doing, just tell me what you are holding against me that makes you hate me so?" She didn't feel she deserved the hate, but neither did he. Well, perhaps he did, but who was she to judge?

she makes my heart scream color i know by now she should have found me out
HE WAS more than happy as she spoke her words, he was overjoyed. Her indications of leaving left him with the decision to continue talking or to ignore her until she finally left. Zane chose to ignore her, so he turned his head away from her, leaning his head back once more and closing his eyes. "Have a pleasant day." He smirked with victory and sighed as she walked away, happy that he had been left to himself for a bit. A sudden movement made him open his eyes and turn, to find the elf standing right beside him. She was so close, close enough for him to touch her if he moved even just a little. But then she reached into the folds of her dress, reaching for a weapon of some sort no doubt.
ZANE JUMPED to his feet, wishing that he had some sort of protection, but then again, he did have his wolf form.... Still, there was a huge possibility that she would win in any fight they may have. His eyes turned neon orange as she said sorry. What the heck was wrong with her? Was she some crazed criminal, or just a psycho? He looked at his shirt that still lay upon the rock, wondering if he could strangle her with it if she tried to attack again. Zane glared at her, stepping a few paces forward, trying to decide if he should answer her question.
HE MOVED toward her once more, his hands out in caution, trying to show that he wasn't going to do anything and also trying to get his hands ready to grab her. Would she see through it? Hopefully not, but for now he would just try to pin her arms to her waist. Zane bolted forward, his hands gripping her arms, so that she couldn't reach for her dagger. "This is not the time for me to be answering any of your questions." The shifter began to push her against the tree, so that he could have something to block one of her escape routes. His hands brought her two wrists in front of her, so that one hand held both her wrists while the other began to search her dress.
AND NO he wasn't doing this for any perverted reasons, though in her hysterical state she probably thought he was, no, he was looking for her dagger. His hand felt up one her legs, trying to see if it was on the inside of her dress. Okay, who was he kidding, he was doing this for sexual reasons as well as looking for her weapon. Removing his hands from her legs, he began to search the folds of the dress. Zane looked up at her, his brow furrowed in frustration, but then smoothed as his hand found the handle of the knife. "And now I'll answer your question.... maybe." The shape shifter put the knife in his pants, being that he had no pockets. Zane leaned forward, his body against hers, fingers wrapped around her wrists. Acting this way was very out of character for him, but somehow, it felt as if it was his true self, but he was only just letting it out. For some reason, he had the urge to through her to the ground in run, but first he wanted to see wat she would do...

What is happening to me crazy some would say Where is the life that I recognize, gone away And I won't cry for yesterday There's an ordinary world somehow I have to find And as I try to make my way to the ordinary world I will learn to survive
Passion or coincidence once prompted you to say Pride will tear us both apart Well now pride's gone out the window Cross the rooftops, runaway Left me in the vacuum of my heart
"This is not the time for me to be answering any of your questions." His hands moved along her legs and the folds of her dress. No way was he going to get away from this without a few scars. "And now I'll answer your question.... maybe." Angrier than hell, the Elf used what space she could, and promptly kneed him between his legs. At that she freed herself from his grip, punching him in the face, and moved around him quickly, pulling her dagger out of his pants. "This!" She shouted, kicking him in the chest and pushing him to the ground, sitting on top of him as he hit the ground. She pressed the blade against his throat, glaring. "This is mine." Arlenwa pressed it a little harder, not caring if she cut into the soft flesh of his throat or not.
"Now, answer my question or I'll cut your throat." Again, she pressed it harder. She looked into his eyes, sadness and rage filling her own, but she could not identify what his eyes held. The temptation of seeking out his past slipped into her mind, but it was ignored by the she-elf. "Why do you hate my people?" She repeated the question, wishing for her sword so she could rid the world of another hateful man. The beauty of the world could be restored if they all died. All the selfish, lying, cheating, murderous men of the world. Of course the women too. All the evil ones would have to die. But could Arlenwa really kill this shape shifter? She was stronger than to give into the temptation of killing him, but if he pushed her much further, he would be dead and his blood would stain her porcelain flesh.
"Or, I could just kill you now and save you the embarassment of having no reasonable answer." She smiled bitterly, nearly actually wanting to kill him. A dangerous place for an elf. The edge. Wanting to kill someone was a terrible sin. But, perhaps his death could be avoided, and possibly even Arlenwa's, if he just answered the female's question. The elf scrambled for a reason not to kill him before she lost herself in rage.
A young man laughed, urging his horse on through the brush, his sandy hair blowing behind him. He pulled a stick from his pants, swinging at the plants, leaves falling all around him. Arbellason Nenharma. Her brother.. He laughed, calling for someone. A young woman about the same age rode in on her horse, laughing at him. They snickered as an older looking someone else came into their happy little gathering, but he glared. The two laughed.
Her brothers. That was a reason not to kill him. They would not hate her, but they would not speak to her. A fate worse than death and their hatred. The she-elf shifted uncomfortably on top of him, still holding the dagger to his throat, the blade glinting hungrily in the light.

where i can never wake from a bad dream where i can never say what i mean
TWO WORDS. Holy crap! Before he knew it, coursing pain seared through his body, first in his crotch, then his face, and even a bit in his chest. Then she was on top of him, her knife pointing into his neck, the pressure added to it easily felt. Irises flushed red, his hands moved to her thighs, ready to throw her off him. Thankfully he thought better of it, after his brain reminded him that she did have a dagger to his throat. Jeez, this always happened to Zane. Every time he thought he had a situation under control, someone or something would turn the tables so that he became the victim. Hmp. Well, he might as well make the most of having her on top of him. Zane began to move his hands to her waist but instead kept them immovable, his brain kept forgetting about the knife to his throat. Women always clouded his mind.
"WHY DO you hate my people?" He looked up at her with a raised eyebrow, clearly wondering why she was getting this upset over a freaking question. "Or, I could just kill you now and save you the embarrassment of having no reasonable answer." Zane growled at this, letting his second form morph his fingernail into claws, without her noticing of course. "I do not hate your people. I simply find that they are annoying in the fact that most elves think themselves to be better than others." The shifter moved his hands to her waist, but then putting his hands on her stomach, allowing claws to begin poking into her soft flesh. He smirked victoriously. "Well, miss, should you choose to cut my throat, I will be glad to rip out your intestines."
A SMALL, but barely noticeable pout formed on his lips, as he waited for her decision. Zane felt a wide smile spread over his face, brilliant white teeth gleaming. "Perhaps we could settle our differences in a more civilized manner?" The shifter arched his back momentarily, trying to find a better position amongst the ground. He was surprised to find the elf to be very weightless, it would be so easy to knock her off him, but he knew that despite her lack of muscle, she was far too swift for him. "Or, if you wanted to... I would be happy to give up my stereotype of your kind in return for a gift..." One hand moved to her butt, making it clear what 'gift' he spoke of, but quickly returned to her stomach.
KNOWING THAT she would refuse almost made him frown, but Zane would not allow her to see anything but a light and airy attitude toward the situation. If he actually let her see that he was worried about her slitting his throat, well that might lead to her coming out on top. His eyes, now a pale yellow, studied her eyes, finally coming to realize the anger that shined in them. Zane rolled his eyes and sighed, knowing that he was putting his life in her hands. He changed his claws back to fingernails and let his hands rest on her legs, his eyes looking up at her with a deep burning. She would either kill him now, or perhaps let him live. Zane just had to believe that she would not kill him.

I know you, who are you now? Look into my eyes if you can’t remember Do you remember?
"I do not hate your people. I simply find that they are annoying in the fact that most elves think themselves to be better than others." The elf smirked, a single brow raised. "Hm, I do believe you are wrong, and I doubt you've met more than two or three elves in your life." The elf felt something sharp touching her, and she looked. The fool had his claws out and was trying to use them on her. His smirk sent a flash of anger through her. "Well, miss, should you choose to cut my throat, I will be glad to rip out your intestines." She laughed, "You would be dead before your claws," she said the word as if it disgusted her even though she didn't even really mind the things. "cut into my flesh."
"Perhaps we could settle our differences in a more civilized manner?" Civilized? I doubt you know what that means boy. Arlenwa thought, her smirk gone, and instead of anger, amusement flickered in her eyes as she stared. "Or, if you wanted to... I would be happy to give up my stereotype of your kind in return for a gift..." A gift? Arlenwa's stare turned cold as she felt where he had placed his hand. "Frankly my friend, I'd rather die than let you touch me." She grinned, her grip on the dagger still strong. "So, if you will, try and kill me, but I doubt you will be able to as you will only be a corpse."
As his claws were back once again to their original form, her muscles loosened. Well, he gave up more easily than she expected. "Feel free to suggest any other of your... brilliant ideas. I'm really very interested in hearing them." Now that she was actually quite calm, she began to study his face. Handsome face... for a shape shifter anyway. She followed his jaw line briefly, her gaze turning to his eyes. Those most interested her. A sly smile grew along her lips, and she sat back more, letting the rest of her weight take advantage of gravity. Maybe the gift he asked for wouldn't be such a bad thing after all. No- no, she told herself. He just wanted to use her. Just like all men. Was she really being fair? He had made a stereotype, and now here she was doing the same. Talk about being a hypocrite.
Was this really fair? The she-elf's more compassionate side bit into her conscience, practically forcing her to re-think the current situation. She sighed, and almost got off of the shape shifter, but she remained on top of him. "I've decided I might let you live, and not because I can't and wouldn't kill you, but because this isn't quite fair to you. Not that you'd treat me fairly if you were in my position." She shifted again. "But you'll have to give me a reason to let you live."

i’d build you an empire from here to the far lands to spread love like violence
NOT ONLY HAD this stupid elf decided to basically sit on him, but she also couldn't keep her butt still. It was not pleasing to Zane, not pleasing at all and to make it worse, he was just letting her do this to him. What happened to women being obedient? Well this was a new age, so in a way, it was only expected that annoying and unusual things happen, but why did it always have to happen to him? Life was so unfair. Zane listened to her voice with eager ears, praying that she would get off him. "I've decided I might let you live, and not because I can't and wouldn't kill you, but because this isn't quite fair to you. Not that you'd treat me fairly if you were in my position."
ZANE GROWLED WITH complete and utter annoyance as she shifted once again before speaking. "But you'll have to give me a reason to let you live." Another growl followed her words. Why in the name of muffins did he have to give her a reason!?!?! Couldn't she just let her better judgment tell her to let him go? Hmp. Maybe she had no better judgment. And no common sense. With a great sigh, he let his mind work on a reason for her to let him live. His humor worked about his thinkings, as Zane finally came up with a reason. "If you let me live, I'll be your guard dog." Flashing his familiar smile, he brought his legs to a folded position, pushing her so that her back lay against the upper front of his legs.
WITH BLINDING SPEED he grabbed the knife from her hand with his teeth, his abdomen bending so that he sat upward at the same time. Still smiling even with the weapon in his mouth, he brought his arms around her, dropping the knife in her, well, their laps. "Don't tell me you couldn't use some free protection while you sleep." Of course, he wouldn't mention that she might need someone to protect her from him, but she didn't need to know that. Zane smiled widely, staring hopefully into her orbits, studying them, wondering what kind of a person she really was. This was probably a really awkward position for her, but it should at least prove to her that he had no immediate plans of harming her.

There’s the strangest excitement today If you’re awake then you’re welcome to hear I’ve got a gift and it blew me a way From the far eastern sea straight to here Oh God I feel like I’m in for it now Its like the rush has gone straight to my brain But my voice is as lonely as loud As I whisper a joy of this pain.
"If you let me live, I'll be your guard dog." The elf laughed quietly to herself at this. What would she need with a guard dog? She was perfectly and easily able to take care of herself. Plus she already had a horse, sword, some magic, and a wolf. Silly shape shifter. Before she knew it the male had in her a totally different position, and her knife was dropped into 'their' laps. Her body remained relaxed, and she held back another laugh. This particular shape shifter was making this particular day quite interesting. He was smarter than she thought.
"Don't tell me you couldn't use some free protection while you sleep." She smirked, "I actually don't." One whistle and Calanon would be there. One whistle and Sakar would be there too.. with her sword strapped sercurly to his saddle. Her mind whirled in excitement at the thought. "This is reason good enough for me to let you live." Arlenwa stared unafraid back at him, finally calm. She wouldn't kill him and hopefully he wouldn't kill her if he had the chance. The sound of the waves rushing back and forth, up and down the shore comforted her, eyes still trained on his.
The elf broke her gaze quickly, avoiding thoughts of every kind. "Since I seem to have won," She grinned. It was actually pretty much even, but whatever, she didn't care. "and I won't be giving you your 'gift'." She paused, studying his face for another moment, and giving him time to try and figure out where the heck she was going with this. "I'll give you a consolation prize." In truth, this was going to be sort of a prize for her too.. in a way. He was, after all, not too bad looking.
Arlenwa leaned forward, brushing her lips against his, kissing him. Slowly, she leaned back, waiting for his reaction. It should be somewhere between "WHAT!? WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!? I didn't like it!" and then a pout. Or "....Uh- haha!" and he would laugh at her. Maybe even, "It was okay." "Satisfied? No? Too bad. Now I'll leave and find my own beach." She struggled to get out of his arms, but he was obviously stronger than her. "Let go. Please." She frowned at having to actually say the word to him. He didn't really deserve it in her opinion.

i’d build you an empire from here to the far lands to spread love like violence
THE KISS WAS more than unexpected, it was the last thing he would think her to do! Only in his wildest fantasies would she even come close to kissing him. As her lips touched his, he was first shocked, but quickly began to move his lips against hers. Even as quick as his lips had begun, the elf had already removed her beautiful kissers away from him. "Satisfied? No? Too bad. Now I'll leave and find my own beach." Zane rolled his eyes, as she struggled to get out of his arms. "Let go. Please." The shapeshifter pulled her against him and then rolled her onto the ground, so that he was now on top of her.
SMILING WITH A brief triumphant spirit, he sighed, "Ah, this position is much better." Realizing that she would probably try to escape his grasps with her ever so swift elven ways, he said sternly, "Now don't go escaping me m'lady. I have no intention of harming you." Zane moved his face toward hers, one hand tenderly cupping the back of her head. With a sudden backward pull of his head, he looked at her with a wary look. "Unless you view kissing as a form of torture....?" For an instant he studied her features, but shrugged his shoulders and returned to his previous action.
LIPS FIRST TOUCHED hers gently at first, then crushed into hers, giving her a kiss that she had probably never experienced before. Even in her long years. Or course Zane was fairly old too, but she was more than likely older than him... A small alarm went off in his brain, reminding him that he was passionately kissing a woman he barely even knew. The fact that he had allowed his tongue to begin pushing against her, clenched(?), teeth, was warning enough that he needed to stop. Barely able to pull his lips away from hers, he breathed out heavily, his orbs a crystal blue/green as he stared at her lips. "Now that's what I'd call a satisfactory kiss. Though I'm sure you don't agree...?"
BEFORE SHE COULD even think of kicking the crap outta him, he rolled onto the ground beside her, folding his arms behind his head. A ridiculous smile was paint firmly on Zane's features as he waited for her to storm away. It was probably true that he had acted a bit like a brute, but when one has been on the road for so long, women are not a common thing. Being so close to her was something that should not be wasted, or at least he thought so.

I've come undone But you make sense of who I am Like puzzle pieces in your eye.
The idiot had rolled over on top of her! "Ah, this position is much better." What!? Her mind began listing off all the cruel things she could say and the ways she could torture him after she got out from underneath him. "Now don't go escaping me m'lady. I have no intention of harming you." He was actually telling her not to freak out?! The elf narrowed her eyes at him, getting ready to kick and fight him off the top of her, but he jerked his head back, and she relaxed. "Unless you view kissing as a form of torture....?" No.. but this wasn't what she called fun.
Before she could protest or disagree he was kissing her, and before she knew it, she liked it, but her mouth hardly responded out of the experience she had had with this shape shifter. The elven woman laughed- she actually laughed! - as he pulled away and spoke. "Now that's what I'd call a satisfactory kiss. Though I'm sure you don't agree...?"
The elf laid on the ground, still laughing. "Oh no, I agree." She had finally managed to stop her laughter. "But it wasn't as good as I expected." She smirked, and brushed a few of her hairs away from her face. "I mean, here's you and your satisfactory." She held her hand up a few inches or so off the ground. "and here's good." Her other hand raised up much, much higher than the other. Almost as high as she could reach.
Arlenwa let her head rest back on the ground, smile faltering. "I don't even know his name, and generally, respectable women know the names of all the men they've kissed." She remained quiet for a moment, thinking to herself, her fingers playing with her dress at her sides. "Then again, I guess I'm not very respectable anymore after trying to 'kill' a stranger." Arlenwa sat up, and looked at him. What was the other thing she had promised him? Ah yes, to find her own beach. Well, she'd see what happened. Would he dismiss her like a child? He'd taste steel if he did. Arlenwa ignored her mind, waiting to act on instinct if he went for her knife again. She obviously still couldn't trust him.

i’d build you an empire from here to the far lands to spread love like violence
WITH AN AMUSED look he stared at the elf woman as she made her statement, his eyes alive with humor. It was almost funny to think that she had tried to kill him just a minute ago and now they had kissed. Of course, he hadn't really wanted to kiss her, it was more of an instinct than an actual want... Ohkay, who was he kidding, Zane had wanted to kiss her. She was beautiful, even for a 'stuck up' elf, and he still felt the same desires he should feel for any female. Perhaps it was shallow of him to act this way, but this was not the only side of his personality, there was a gentleman hidden underneath the thoughts running through his mind. The only problem was that the gentleman was nowhere to be found today, that part of Zane was unreachable for the moment. She would not be overlooked, the elf was now under influence of his choices and he had no plans of being 'nice'.
SUBCONSIOUSLY THE SHAPESHIFTER decided to act, his body turning onto its side, eyes staring into her orbs with a certain amount of secretive thoughts running through his clockwork, one hand tentatively reached for hers. Just at the moment that it seemed he would take her hand, the brute instead grabbed the folds of fabric around her legs, pulling her toward him across the sand. With a friendly smile on his face, but a dead appearance in his eyes, Zane began to kiss her once more. One of his hands snaked behind her head, holding it still so that she couldn't escape him. His other hitched her leg up by his hip, while his kissing became more urgent and rough, mostly likely forcing her to struggle against his grip.
FINALLY HIS UNRULELY behavior came to its end, but he wasn't done with her yet. Once his lips came away from hers and his holds on her loosened, Zane suddenly place himself on top of her, basically using his entire body to hold her down. Claws took the place of his fingers and he ran them down her neck, stopping at the top of her chest. An evil smile spread across his face, something that not many people every witnessed, and then he did it. Claws ripped across the top of her dress, exposing fair skin, maybe even bringing blood forth from her flesh, he wasn't paying enough attention to notice. His tongue found its way down her neck and then over the exposed skin, his hands holding her arms down. With a horrid laugh he sprang to his feet, already preparing to fight her with every ounce of his strength. Why had he done this? Well, maybe he was a bit on the crazy side after all his travels alone.

I try to make it through my life. In my way, there's you I try to make it through these lies. And thats all I do.
Just dont deny it Dont try and fight this and deal with it and thats just part of it.
If you were dead or still alive I dont care I dont care Just go and leave this all behind 'Cause I swear (I swear) I dont care
I try to make you see my side I always try to stay in line But your eyes see right through, Thats all they do.
Im getting buried in this place I got no room, you're in my face Dont say anything, just go away.
The entire time he attacked her, Arlenwa was laughing. It wasn't laughter that had come from happiness. It was more.. a dark, slightly evil laughter. How helpless did he think she was? As his claws tore through her dress she laughed harder. Two lines of scarlet rose from inside her, some places dripping down between her breasts.
The shape shifter stood in an aggressive stance. Good. He was going to keep things interesting. There would be almost no chance of her getting bored with him. "Think you can handle me mutt?" Her laughter formed a grin on her face, and her gaze flickered over to her dagger. She wouldn't be needing that. The elf had something much better.. So much better.
Arlenwa jumped to her feet in one agile move. The grin on her full lips 'melted' into a snweer. It would be easy to kill him and if he pushed her far enough, she wouldn't hesitate to do it this time. She took one slender finger, ran it along the inside of her cut which was followed by a small shudder of pain. She put the blood covered finger in her mouth, tongue removing the substance from her fingers. Hopefully she looked crazy enough to freak him out a little.
Right after she finished with her 'scare tactic' she summoned the water to her aid. It obey immediately, the liquid wrapping around his ankled, from that she moved it to his arms and forced them to his side. And in freezing the water, he was 'locked' in place.
"Well, what can you say? You tried!" She paused, frowning. "Or at least you might have." She moved until she was no farther away than an inch between her face and his after picking up her dagger. She raised it up, sliding it along the skin of his chest. She didn't care how bad it cut or even if it didn't, which Arlenwa didn't see how it wouldn't.
Now glaring, Arlenwa wiped her hands along her wounds and slapped him in the face. Hard. He had his fun and now she was going to have hers.
So what would she do with him? Well.. Arlenwa punched him several times in the face and then the stomach. Fun? Maybe. Revenge? Sure, you could say that. He had ripped one of her most comfortable dresses with those stupid claws of his.
Stepping back she sighed, then pinched the bridge of her nose with her thumg and forefinger. She could feel the drain on her energy from using her power, the burning of the two wounds made it feel as though her chest was on fire, the air making it even worse on her skin.
Without warning Arlenwa moved forward, kicking him between the legs for the second time that day. She smirked, turning her head to the side slightly. "Hopefully I just did you and everyone else in this god forsaken world a favor." The elf moved back some and sat on the ground facing him, chin rested in her hands. The scent of her own blood was dizzying, but Arlenwa did her best to ignore it.
What the hell kind of person was he? The elf was extremely frustrated. Normally, it was easy for her to tell what kind of person someone was and to predict what they would do in different situations. But this shape shifter.. Ah! It aggravated her so. Was he insane? Then again, maybe she was too. Arlenwa could and was being just as bad as him.
After what seemed like several hours to Arlenwa, she stood again, face an emotionless mask. Her fingers touched the cuts and she looked at the bloody fingertips. Still wet. It must have only been a few minutes after all.
Just in case, the elf felt his pant legs, searching for a weapon of any kind. Finding nothing, she frowned. Maybe he wasn't as clever as she had suspected. The ice binding him shattered, turning to water droplets before hitting the ground and soaking into the earth. Arlenwa walked right up to him, looking into his eyes. "Try again." She challenged him, throwing her dagger to her right. It would be too far to reach. At least for a while.
In the forest, the elf's stallion loomed ever closer to the beach, worried about how long his elf had been away. He would be there if she needed him.
{Word Count: 725} {Notes: Oookay.. I'm not quite sure what that was... Arlenwa got a little crazy. She's kind of not crazy though, but uh.... Not sure where I'm going with this, but you said "i give you permission to beat the crap outta zane. have fun!" so I did. Kind of.. If I went too far let me know! xD Not sure what you define as "beating the crap outta someone".}

im singing to an empty room i'm performing for ghosts
the movement of the water was almost too much for zane to comprehend, in fact, it was beginning to freak him out. jeez, not only were elves good at everything, but they also had special little powers! oh that was just freaking great. the shifter eyed the water frozen about his body, trying to struggle against it. "Well, what can you say? You tried!" the baroness slid the blade of her knife across his chest, leaving a somewhat deep cut in its tracks. zane made a face that was something between cringing and wincing, but either way, it showed the pain he felt. he angled his head down at his chest, staring at the cut, his breath ragged with the throbbing sensation across his lungs. had she went that deep? no, surely not, if she had cut into his lungs his throat would be filling up with blood. and for the moment, his throat was clear of excessive fluids.
as if the cut wasn't enough, she slapped him in the face. a string of cusswords left his lips, his eyes nearly burning holes in her skull. he stared her down as she stared at him in turn, but she broke his gaze with a straight out punch to the face. good god that hurt. it wasn't surprising that a series of punches followed, but his body was certainly surprised when one hit him in the stomach. finally she gave him a break. a bruise had already begun to form on his cheek bone and his nose had begun to bleed. vision blurring zane just closed his eyes, breathing out his mouth with a some what gurgled sound. this really wasn't fair. at least he had given her more of a chance to escape his attacks than this, why couldn't she--- the shapeshifter's thoughts were broken as a terrible pain was set loose in his crotch, it was obvious to him that the elf lady had kicked him, he didn't need to have his eyes open to know that.
"Hopefully I just did you and everyone else in this god forsaken world a favor." with eyes still closed, he listened to her step away. maybe she had left completely, or maybe only sat down a few feet from him. for a few moments he had peace, but then the ice shattered around him, falling to the ground as water. zane fell to the ground as well, groans of pain flying loosely from his mouth. "Try again." well it was officially, elves were completely infuriating, and this one, she needed some of her own medicine. but who was he to give it to her? zane was in no condition to fight her and he didn't know if he had enough will power to morph into his wolf form. opening his eyes, the shifter looked up at the elf, but decided she didn't deserve to look at him with such a smug face, so he stood to his feet. managing to do it without appearing frail was near to impossible, but somehow he managed to pull it off.
summoning all the strength and willpower he had left, zane vanished, replaced with an ebony wolf. a snarl roared from his throat and he lunged at her, his teeth finding her dress with ease and then ripped it from her body. how much dress did he leave? well, the wolf wasn't sure, but he knew that he was not going to leave her now. dropping the fabric and then turning toward her, he jumped at her with blinding speed, knocking her to the ground. now on top of her, again, zane changed into his human form, his hands gripping her hair, pulling back hard. with her throat exposed, the shifter fell into his animal instincts, biting with as much force as possible into her throat. unfortunately, his body was so exhausted that he didn't get to see the agony on her face.
letting go of her, zane then jumped up, staggering for a minute until he fell onto the ground. reaching for his shirt would be impossible and he didn't have enough strength to change into his wolf form again. now he lay naked on the ground, too weak to even think of fighting back. his only idea for protection was to curl up into the fetal position, placing his hands over his head. she would probably end up finishing him off, but there was nothing more he could do. blood was actually coming out of his mouth now, maybe the blood from his nose was entering his mouth as well...? zane spread his fingers apart, so that he could see what she would do next, wondering if she might be kind enough to leave him.
like that would happen.
