The future is not a pleasant place. Ever think about what it will be like on Earth fifty years from now? A hundred or more? You probably imagined things like voice activated refrigerators and robot servants. Hovercraft, anyone? Well, think again. Think tumbled buildings and broken spirits. Only the lucky few escaped unharmed, but many more died from their war injuries, both civilians and military personnel. World War III has destroyed the entire planet. Atomic bombs were dropped on nearly every country, the rest destroyed by firearms- even Switzerland. You may think that the Germans or some other European country started this war, but you’d be wrong- WWIII was started by none other than the United States of America, by President John Davis. The year is 2132. The war has been over for nearly five years, and anyone lucky enough to have survived has moved to the least-devastated places they could- Switzerland, South Africa, and the state of Kansas are now the most populated places on the planet Earth. But even they are dark and dreary places, where no one has more than twenty dollars in their pocket- and if they do, it’s almost certainly stolen, not that there’s anywhere to use it. Everything is stolen, anyway. You’re a thief, or you’re trying your best not to be, and most likely failing. 2132 is not a pleasant time to live in. We wish you the best of luck.
